This kitchen island is built with an unfinished zinc top---photos show the top after months of use----the zinc will patina with age and use.
Here are a few facts regarding the zinc top:
*The zinc top will patina and age with charm and the color will deepen to resemble pewter
*Zinc is a soft material and will scratch----that adds to its finish and patina
*Zinc has an old world charm and looks beautiful with wood finishes
*Zinc is a food safe material for use in the kitchen
*If you like pristine surfaces that always look "new", a zinc counter top is not for you.
Bottom shelf for baskets/storage and an iron towel bar on one end...hooks on the opposite end. Baskets not included with island.
