Fabric & Materials
Made from 100% Washed Cotton
The Heart of Every Heirloom
Soft, breathable, and lovingly pre-washed before it ever meets your nursery. Every piece of High Cotton Textile bedding is crafted from premium 100% cotton — chosen for its safety, its softness, and its ability to be passed down for generations.
Why We Only Use 100% Cotton
Cotton is one of the safest, most breathable fabrics you can choose for your baby's crib. It's gentle against delicate skin, naturally temperature-regulating, and free from the synthetic fibers and harsh finishes found in many mass-produced bedding sets.
But not all cotton is created equal — and not all cotton is treated the same way before it's sewn. That's where we do things a little differently.
What Makes Our Cotton Different
Every yard of fabric that comes through our Alabama studio is pre-washed and pre-dried before we cut a single piece. We call it our washed cotton process — and it's one of the things our customers love most.
Pre-Shrunk for You
We wash and dry all of our fabrics before cutting and sewing, so your bedding won't shrink the first time you wash it at home. What you order is what you keep.
Softer From the Start
Brand-new 100% cotton can feel stiff and starchy — not what you want against a baby's skin. Our pre-washing process breaks the fabric in gently, so every piece arrives soft, cozy, and ready to love.
The Farmhouse Look
That relaxed, lived-in texture our customers adore? That's the washed cotton at work. It gives every piece a soft, slightly textured, heirloom feel — never crisp or factory-new.
Crisp or Cozy — The Choice Is Yours
One of the things we love about 100% washed cotton is how versatile it is. Most of our customers fall in love with the relaxed farmhouse look it has straight out of the package — soft, slightly wrinkled, and full of character.
But if you prefer a more polished, crisp aesthetic for your nursery, our cotton takes beautifully to an iron and steamer. Either way, it's the same heirloom-quality fabric — styled to suit your nursery.
Caring for Your Heirloom Bedding
With a little love, your High Cotton Textile bedding is made to last for years — and even be passed down to little ones to come. Here's how to keep every piece looking its best.
Washing
- Machine wash cold, on a gentle cycle
- Wash separately from other items
- Skip the bleach and fabric softeners — they can damage natural cotton fibers over time
Drying
- Tumble dry on medium heat, separately
- A quick toss in the dryer is the easiest way to "fluff" out wrinkles between uses
Ironing (Optional)
- 100% cotton wrinkles easily — that's part of its charm — but it irons beautifully
- Use a medium heat setting
- Avoid starch sprays, which can damage the fabric over time
- A handheld steamer also works wonderfully
Sewn With Care in the American South
Every piece of High Cotton Textile bedding is cut, sewn, and finished by hand in our Alabama studio. As a small, woman-owned business, we take pride in choosing high-quality cotton fabrics from trusted American mills — and turning them into nursery heirlooms that families treasure for generations.
When you order from us, your bedding isn't pulled off a warehouse shelf. It's made just for you, with the same care we'd put into something for our own families.
