Shades & Valances — London Shades, Tie-Up Shades & Ruffled Valances

Not every window wants a full-length panel. A London shade, a tie-up shade or a ruffled valance covers the window without covering the wall — the right answer above a changing table, over a kitchen sink, on a short window, or anywhere a pair of curtains would swallow the room. Each one is cut and sewn to order in our Alabama studio from 100% washed cotton, in every color we carry. Free shipping on every order.

      Which one do you need?

      • London shades — soft gathered folds that hang flat against the window. Available functional, on a working cord, or decorative and fixed in place
      • Tie-up shades — a flat panel with fabric ties, rolled and tied to whatever height you want
      • Ruffled valances — a short gathered header that softens the top of the window and leaves the glass clear

Why families choose a shade over panels:

      • They work on windows too short or too close to a corner for curtains
      • They keep floor space clear beside a crib, a dresser or a daybed
      • They pair well with panels — a valance above and curtains below is a classic layered look
      • Cut from the same washed cotton as our crib bedding, so a nursery reads as one room
      • Custom widths and lengths on request — send us your window measurement
