Blackout Nursery Curtains — Handmade, Fully Lined for Darker Naps
Blackout nursery curtains are the ones parents come back for. Ours are cut and sewn to order in our Alabama studio from 100% washed cotton with a blackout lining sewn in behind it — so the panel still looks and feels like cotton from inside the room, but the afternoon sun stops at the window. Available in ruffled, tailored and euro pleat styles, in every color we carry. Free shipping on every order.
What sets ours apart:
- A true blackout lining sewn in, not a coated fabric that cracks or a clip-in liner that sags
- Washed cotton on the room side — it reads as bedding, not as a light-blocking panel
- Ruffled, tailored and euro pleat headers, so blackout is a lining choice rather than a style compromise
- Extra Full panels at 1.5 times the standard width, which matters more here — a fuller gather closes the gaps light finds
- Five standard lengths up to 130 inches, with custom lengths on request
- Any color we carry, matched to the crib bedding you already own
Getting the room genuinely dark: most light comes in around a panel rather than through it. Hang the rod several inches above the window frame and several inches wider on each side, and choose a fuller panel over a narrow one. If you are between lengths, order the longer one — a panel that pools slightly blocks more floor-level light than one that stops at the sill.
