Just the rail cover — small white dots on deep cherry red, a soft white ruffle beneath, and the fastest way to change a nursery without changing the nursery.

One printed panel across the front rail, finished along the bottom edge in a gathered white ruffle with slim white ties that slip between the spindles and disappear. On a plain white crib it does the work of a whole bedding set. It is also the piece that earns its keep: once a baby pulls up and starts gnawing the rail, this is what sits between them and the wood, and it comes off, washes, and goes back on.

Details:

  • Cherry red and white polka dot cotton with a gathered white ruffle and slim white fabric ties
  • Ruffled construction — the ruffle runs the length of the bottom edge
  • Covers one long crib rail; crib skirt and bows sold separately
  • Optional custom monogram, stitched on the rail cover itself; any color can be changed — leave a note at checkout
  • 100% cotton — soft, breathable, machine washable
  • Handmade to order in Alabama

Good to Know:

  • People find this searching for a red polka dot crib rail cover, a red and white crib rail teething guard, a crib rail protector, or vintage polka dot baby bedding — all the same piece
  • Buying the rail cover alone makes sense if you already have a crib skirt you like, or if you want the nursery to look different for one season without replacing the whole set
  • Dots read as Christmas in December with no snowflake or holly anywhere on them, then carry into Valentine's and look right on the Fourth of July. Nothing has to come off the crib in January
  • Monogramming goes on the rail cover, stitched in white. The dots are small enough that they don't fight the letters
  • Cherry Red is our name for this red, and it is the same red as our solid Cherry Red pieces, so the two mix. It is a brighter red than our Country Red, which is darker and deeper
  • Ruffled means a gathered ruffle along the edge; our Tailored, Scalloped and Farmhouse rail covers are the same fit in a different edge treatment

Coordinates With:

Fits: The crib rail cover rests over the top rail of the crib only. It does not go inside the crib and does not cover the crib sides, slats, or interior openings. Made for a standard crib's long rail; leave a note at checkout for a mini crib or a short-side cover.

Made to Order: Sewn when you order, in our Alabama studio.

A standard crib mattress is 28" × 52", and our pieces are cut to match it — 52" long rail covers, 28" short rail covers, and fitted sheets sized to that mattress. If your crib takes a standard mattress, no measuring is needed.

Crib skirt drops — farmhouse skirts are 20", ruffled skirts are 22". To find your drop, measure from just under the mattress support straight down toward the floor. Want a different length? Tell us your measurement at checkout and we'll make it to that, at no extra charge.

Rail cover drape — approximately 20" down each side of the rail, inside and out.

Mini cribs — sheets fit a 24" × 38" mattress, and most pieces can be made in mini sizing on request.

Antique, imported, or non-standard crib? Send us your measurements — everything is cut to order.

Every piece is made from 100% cotton sourced from American mills — no synthetic blends, no flame-retardant treatments, no chemical finishes.

Pre-washed before we cut. Every yard is washed and dried in our studio before a single piece is cut, so your bedding arrives already soft and won't shrink on you at home. That relaxed, lived-in texture is the washed cotton at work — and it irons or steams to a crisp finish if you prefer that look.

Washing — machine wash cold on gentle, separately. Skip bleach and fabric softener; both break down natural cotton over time.

Drying — tumble dry on medium, separately. A quick toss in the dryer is the easiest way to release wrinkles between uses.

Ironing — optional, on medium heat. Avoid starch sprays. A handheld steamer works well too.

Every piece is sewn to order in our Alabama studio, so nearly every detail can be changed.

Color changes — swap any color on any product: ruffles, cording, accents, bows, ties, or the body of the piece itself. Mix and match across a set however you like. Most color changes are free of charge.

Monograms and personalization — add initials, a name, or a meaningful date, with your choice of font and thread color. $30 per piece.

Style and sizing — prefer a tailored look without ruffles? Need mini crib sizing? Both are available on request.

How to order: add your pieces to the cart, then leave your requests in the notes field at checkout. Forgot? Email customercare@highcottontextile.com with your order number before we begin sewing.

Not sure about a color? We always recommend ordering swatches first.
