Red and white polka dots — the oldest trick in the nursery, and still the one that makes a baby look most like a baby. Cut and sewn by hand in our Alabama studio.

Small even dots scattered across a deep cherry red, close enough together that the whole rail reads as texture from across the room and resolves into dots up close. The ruffled rail cover carries it along the top of the crib and finishes in a gathered white ruffle with slim white ties that slip between the spindles. Below, a gathered white farmhouse crib skirt and two oversized white sashes stay plain on purpose. A polka dot is cheerful without being loud, which is a harder thing to pull off than it sounds — and it is one of the few patterns that looks right on a newborn, a toddler, and a four-year-old who has opinions.

What's Included:

  • (1) ruffled crib rail cover for the long crib rail — cherry red and white polka dot with a white ruffle and tiny white ties; optional custom monogram
  • (1) four-sided gathered farmhouse crib skirt in solid white — 20-inch finished drop, fits a standard crib mattress
  • (2) large white bows — each arrives as a long sash you tie to your preferred size and fullness

Details:

  • 100% cotton — soft, breathable, machine washable
  • Ruffled rail cover construction — printed panel finished in a gathered white ruffle along the bottom edge
  • Farmhouse skirt construction — softly gathered all the way around, not pleated
  • Covers one long crib rail; a second rail cover can be added — leave a note at checkout
  • Any color can be changed; mini crib sizing available — leave a note at checkout
  • Handmade to order in Alabama

Good to Know:

  • People search this as red and white polka dot crib bedding, a red dot nursery, vintage polka dot baby bedding, or a red and white Christmas crib bedding set — all the same product
  • Dots read as Christmas in December without a single snowflake or holly leaf on them, which means the crib does not need stripping in January. It carries into Valentine's, and a red dot is at home on the Fourth of July too
  • Monogramming is done on the crib rail cover. White stitching on the red reads clearly, and the dots are small enough that they don't fight the letters
  • A polka dot is genuinely gender neutral in red. In pink it reads girl and in blue it reads boy, but red and white sits in the middle and works for either
  • The bows leave the nursery too — wreath sashes, stair banisters, gift wrapping and hospital door hangers

Coordinates With:

Fits: The crib rail cover rests over the top rail of the crib only. It does not go inside the crib and does not cover the crib sides, slats, or interior openings. Made for a standard crib; leave a note at checkout for a mini crib or a different drop length.

Made to Order: Sewn when you order, in our Alabama studio.

A standard crib mattress is 28" × 52", and our pieces are cut to match it — 52" long rail covers, 28" short rail covers, and fitted sheets sized to that mattress. If your crib takes a standard mattress, no measuring is needed.

Crib skirt drops — farmhouse skirts are 20", ruffled skirts are 22". To find your drop, measure from just under the mattress support straight down toward the floor. Want a different length? Tell us your measurement at checkout and we'll make it to that, at no extra charge.

Rail cover drape — approximately 20" down each side of the rail, inside and out.

Mini cribs — sheets fit a 24" × 38" mattress, and most pieces can be made in mini sizing on request.

Antique, imported, or non-standard crib? Send us your measurements — everything is cut to order.

Every piece is made from 100% cotton sourced from American mills — no synthetic blends, no flame-retardant treatments, no chemical finishes.

Pre-washed before we cut. Every yard is washed and dried in our studio before a single piece is cut, so your bedding arrives already soft and won't shrink on you at home. That relaxed, lived-in texture is the washed cotton at work — and it irons or steams to a crisp finish if you prefer that look.

Washing — machine wash cold on gentle, separately. Skip bleach and fabric softener; both break down natural cotton over time.

Drying — tumble dry on medium, separately. A quick toss in the dryer is the easiest way to release wrinkles between uses.

Ironing — optional, on medium heat. Avoid starch sprays. A handheld steamer works well too.

Every piece is sewn to order in our Alabama studio, so nearly every detail can be changed.

Color changes — swap any color on any product: ruffles, cording, accents, bows, ties, or the body of the piece itself. Mix and match across a set however you like. Most color changes are free of charge.

Monograms and personalization — add initials, a name, or a meaningful date, with your choice of font and thread color. $30 per piece.

Style and sizing — prefer a tailored look without ruffles? Need mini crib sizing? Both are available on request.

How to order: add your pieces to the cart, then leave your requests in the notes field at checkout. Forgot? Email customercare@highcottontextile.com with your order number before we begin sewing.

Not sure about a color? We always recommend ordering swatches first.
