Pine Green Ticking Tailored Cotton Crib Skirt
Sewn to order in our Alabama studio — nearly any color, size, or detail can be changed, most at no extra charge. Don't see what you need as an option? Leave a note at checkout: a different color, a different skirt drop, or mini crib sizing.
Pairs Well With
Just the skirt — a 20-inch band of green ticking that hides the springs, the frame and whatever ends up stored under the crib, and gives the room its one piece of pattern.
Fine pine green stripes run closely down a natural cotton ground, with a narrower stripe in the natural color set between them, so the whole thing reads soft rather than graphic. We cut it flat — pleated center panels on all four sides, split corners that wrap around the crib legs, a 20-inch drop that just clears the floor. A stripe wants that construction: gathers would turn every straight line into a zigzag and lose the thing that makes ticking worth using.
Details:
- Four-sided tailored design with pleated center panels — 20-inch finished drop
- Split corners for a clean fit around every crib leg
- The flat deck sits between the mattress and the crib platform and stays put when the mattress gets lifted
- Fits a standard crib mattress; mini crib sizing and custom drops available — leave a note at checkout
- 100% washed cotton in pine green ticking
- Handmade to order in our Alabama studio
Good to Know:
- Crib dust ruffle, crib bed skirt, nursery bed skirt — different names for the same piece, and this is the tailored version of it
- Ticking also goes by ticking stripe, mattress stripe, French ticking or grain sack stripe. It came off old mattress covers and feed sacks, which is why it reads antique even brand new
- Tailored rather than our gathered farmhouse style, specifically because gathers break a stripe. Flat pleated panels keep every line running straight from the mattress to the floor
- Stripes running vertically make a low ceiling read taller, which is part of why they work so well on a piece this close to the floor
- Buying the skirt on its own makes sense if you already have a rail cover you like, or if you want the room to change for one season without replacing everything
- Green and natural reads gender neutral, at home in a woodland, botanical, hunting or midcentury modern nursery. It carries December without being a Christmas print, so it stays up all year
Care: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, wash separately.
Coordinates With:
- This skirt with two large cypress green bows
- White farmhouse nursery curtains — plain white at the windows keeps the stripe the only pattern in the room
- White blackout nursery curtains — the same white with the blackout sewn inside, for naps
- The matching ticking rail cover — add it and the crib is finished top to floor
- This skirt with the rail cover, as a two-piece set
- Cypress green large crib bow — add one, two, or four
- Natural osnaburg fitted crib sheet — a warmer base than white, matched to the ground of the ticking
- Pine green gingham crib skirt — the same deep green as a small check, gathered instead of pleated
- Green Crib Bedding — everything in the green family
Made to Order: Sewn when you order, in our Alabama studio.
A standard crib mattress is 28" × 52", and our pieces are cut to match it — 52" long rail covers, 28" short rail covers, and fitted sheets sized to that mattress. If your crib takes a standard mattress, no measuring is needed.
Crib skirt drops — farmhouse skirts are 20", ruffled skirts are 22". To find your drop, measure from just under the mattress support straight down toward the floor. Want a different length? Tell us your measurement at checkout and we'll make it to that, at no extra charge.
Rail cover drape — approximately 20" down each side of the rail, inside and out.
Mini cribs — sheets fit a 24" × 38" mattress, and most pieces can be made in mini sizing on request.
Antique, imported, or non-standard crib? Send us your measurements — everything is cut to order.
Every piece is made from 100% cotton sourced from American mills — no synthetic blends, no flame-retardant treatments, no chemical finishes.
Pre-washed before we cut. Every yard is washed and dried in our studio before a single piece is cut, so your bedding arrives already soft and won't shrink on you at home. That relaxed, lived-in texture is the washed cotton at work — and it irons or steams to a crisp finish if you prefer that look.
Washing — machine wash cold on gentle, separately. Skip bleach and fabric softener; both break down natural cotton over time.
Drying — tumble dry on medium, separately. A quick toss in the dryer is the easiest way to release wrinkles between uses.
Ironing — optional, on medium heat. Avoid starch sprays. A handheld steamer works well too.
Every piece is sewn to order in our Alabama studio, so nearly every detail can be changed.
Color changes — swap any color on any product: ruffles, cording, accents, bows, ties, or the body of the piece itself. Mix and match across a set however you like. Most color changes are free of charge.
Monograms and personalization — add initials, a name, or a meaningful date, with your choice of font and thread color. $30 per piece.
Style and sizing — prefer a tailored look without ruffles? Need mini crib sizing? Both are available on request.
